Keeping your shower clean (in quarantine!)
Whichever way you look at it we’ve now had our Cashmores Elizabeth Street Office doors open since this time last year. And there’s been a bit going on in that time.
Soap Scum? No thanks!
An easy mixture of 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 1/2 cup of household ammonia will do the trick. Simply place your mixture into a spray bottle and apply to the desired area and leave for 30 minutes. For particularly tough areas, scrub lightly with a soft bristle brush. Make sure you rinse thoroughly with warm water – et voila! You can even use this on your shower door.
Dirty Grout is Out
Rust stains and rings can occur in any environment that is exposed to water, so your shower is no exception. Showers with metal drains can develop rust rings which are difficult to remove. We recommend a paste of Borax and lemon juice and a heavy scrub with a hard-bristle toothbrush. The sooner you deal with these nasty rust marks, the better!
Keeping a Clear head
Cleaning your shower head isn’t something many people think about until it starts to get blocked – lucky for us, it’s an easy task to get your shower head working like new again. Denture Tablets can be purchased at any supermarket around New Zealand and are a miracle for this job. Simply place the shower head in a warm water and denture tablet (use four or five) solution and leave it overnight. The strong effervescence will have your shower head looking and performing like brand new. If you don’t want to risk a trip to the supermarket, try vinegar and warm water in place for denture tablets.
